      I would totally support Gavin running against Trump. He’s our best chance at getting the current foul shitbag out of office. Especially when Trump tries to abolish the election as he says he will.

      I would vote for a green potato over Trump. Newsom is not my first choice but he’d poll better than a potato

      Californian here. Someone progressive please primary Gavin Newsom. If you weren’t sold on him being a spineless opportunist after he gave softball interviews to Charlie Kirk and Steve Bannon, here’s a fun story.

      Activision Blizzard had a corporate structure built around sexual assault. Male staff members had a practice called „cubicle crawling“ where they would get drunk and accost their female colleagues. One of their senior management engaged in non-consensual BDSM sexual assault against a female staff member and shared photographs of his crimes with male colleagues. The victim killed herself. A repeat employee of the month was threatened to be written up and terminated by her supervisor because she used the bathroom too much. She was pregnant. Senior management at the annual convention had a private suite where they would ply female attendees with drugs and alcohol, then have sex with them. I shit you not, they called it the Cosby Suite and you can still see a real picture of them in the room with a frame picture of Bill Cosby.

      What does this have to do with Gavin Newsom? After the CA DFEH caught wind of this shit, they began a big investigation of Activision Blizzard. It was bulletproof and airtight to the point that Activision Blizzard’s share price dropped to the point where they were subject to a hostile takeover by Microsoft. Gavin Newsom killed that investigation for Bobby Kotick, the president of Activision. Gavin Newsom went to bat for rapists and predators to protect a billionaire, denying justice to literally hundreds of sexual assault and harassment victims going back decades.

      As a Virginia voter I do not want Gavin Newsom to run for President. I’m not quite sure who it should be but I have some ideas. Not him though.

      Why are people circulating basically right wing attack propaganda. They do this every 4 years. As soon as one election is over onto attacking the next batch of likely candidates.

      Let the candidates announce themselves and make their case. Why tear Dems down before they even run? 

      Right now it’s all hands on deck to find a way to stop this madmen in the oval. We need to take back Congress. We need to try to get Congress including republicans to counter Trump.

      And here we are circulating attacks on fellow Dems.

      Newsom is very good at lying about what he’ll do for people. Very much like Trump in that regard.

      He promised 3.5 million new housing units by 2024, but only built 15% of that. He nearly doubled the cost of utilities. The result is hundreds of thousands of low and middle class families leaving the state.

      He just always struck me as smug and not just wanting to be president, but expecting it because of who he is. The man just smiles privilege (and is always smiling). Rubbed me the wrong way from the get-go

      If Gavin wanted to run, he’d made it known already.

      As it stands there are no Democrats who would make viable candidates, nevermind competitive candidates in the next election. Hopefully things change but I think we should prepare for another Republican.

      He had a chance to run for the 2024 race and instead supported Biden who we all knew was not fit for another term. Now we are in hell thanks to Newsom and other Democratic politicians. We need fearless leaders

      Honestly, at this point I’ll only vote for a true progressive. If my only options are another useless, dickless neo-liberal pro-corporation fuck and a psycho fascist dictator, I’ll stay home on election day. Why? Because unless we get an actual progressive in power, this country is doomed either way. I would much rather let this place burn to the ground now rather than drag out this shitshow out for the rest of my life.

      I am a dem who is not a fan of newsom. He has gone far but he will go no further. I am happy.

      I like AOC and Pistol Pete (Buttigieg) but i don’t think the country is progressive enough to elect them to highest office. I’d love to see them run for senate though.

      I just hope over the next year or so a new firebrand emerges that can lead the party. The rest of the list of “known names” is nothing to be excited about.

      Ultimately though the primary objective is to get rid of Trump and his despicable cronies.

      I lost any modicum of respect I had for that guy the moment those words came out of his mouth.

      And all the laws he vetoes with „they need more…“ statements. All the while he’s really just reducing hurdles for his restaurants.

      Dude has no credibility. If he wins the primary, we’ll be screwed for another 4 years.

      Of course this all assumes that we still live in the US, or some new authoritarian state by then. Newsom is most definitely better than any MAGA. Which, since they continue to keep their thumbs up their asses while they watch this disaster unfold, currently still includes the entirety of the Republican party.
