They had everyone thinking he was dead and then he sets up the pleasant dining room meeting with the senator. There’s an element of “look! He’s fine!” But it also shows how much power Bukele has over Trump. He controls what we see and it’s gonna cost a lot more than $6M if Trump doesn’t want us to see what’s really going on down there. We wouldn’t have seen Garcia if they didn’t think they needed to show him

El Salvador depends HARD on tourism dollars. This case has made the entire country get the reputation of being a death camp hellhole.
The 3 million a year Trump is paying him isnt worth losing the 3 billion they get each year from tourism.
I’m going to be honest, I don’t really care.
To me it just makes Van Hollen look good to go out of his way to humanize Garcia.
The rest of the world needs to punish El Salvador over this entire saga.
I wonder how quickly El Salvador will change its tune and refuse any more deportations if say, the entire country gets embargoed and sanctioned internationally.
