Hallo allerseits, also lautet das Problem wie folgt: Mein RP läuft am 29.05. und mein Pass läuft auch am 10.10. Ich muss meine RP verlängern, um meinen Arbeitsvertrag zu verlängern. Ich schickte die Ausländerbehörde per E -Mail und erhielt diese Antwort. Für welche Option sollte ich mich entscheiden? Ich verstehe die erste Option wirklich nicht. Ich glaube nicht, dass ich in der Lage sein werde, meinen neuen Pass bald wegen von Problemen in meinem Land zu bekommen.

Ausweisersatz ist basically the option to now get your regular residence permit BUT not connected to a passport.
Therefore you will NOT be able to travel outside of Germany and will have to pay 72€ on top.
We don’t know what your country is because you haven’t told us but according to § 48 Abs. 2 AufenthG, a residence title can be issued as a passport substitute if it would pose a hardship for the foreigner to get a valid passport. You could use that residence card in lieu of your passport then (the residence card needs to say „Ausweisersatz“ for this). However AFAIK you can only use this within Germany and are still obligated to try to get a new passport.
I can’t really say which one is better because we don’t have enough details, as usually an Ausweisersatz is only given to people who really have issues getting a passport.
However if you think that you might not get a new passport in time before your current one expires probably the Ausweisersatz would be a better option because the Fiktionsbescheinigung would be contingent upon having a valid passport.
