Superhot geothermal power plants could produce up to 10x more power than normal geothermal energy. With new drilling technology, geothermal could be developed almost anywhere in the world, not just in places like Iceland. Quaise claims to develop the first plants by 2030, but others are operating in this space too, such as Mazama Energy and AltaRock. I’m curious if others think this can make geothermal contribute more to the global energy mix.
