Als Einwanderer muss ich zugeben, dass ich schockiert bin, wie unverantwortlich die politischen Parteien trotz der äußerst schwerwiegenden Krise in Brüssel erscheinen. Diese Stadt braucht heute eine Regierung und schwerwiegende Reformen, die morgen angekündigt wurden.

Maybe we should try to legalize cannabis first and then treat drug addicts like normal people needing care and stop punishing them using the overcrowded justice ?

Also misery brings poverty and mafias like poverty because people are more corruptible.
Politico always has these “obviously propaganda” pieces. Like, no other city has some kind of crime to deal with?
Capitals are huge hubs for trade and moving people, not easy to keep it together. I imagine the problem is exacerbated by the apparent lack of synergy among its citizens – when everyone disagrees at the polls and elects a mix of views and agendas, it’s obviously not a smooth path forward.
I think “falling apart” should be replaced with “sees the need to identify and focus on specific issues” to agree on instead of some “catch all” frameworks (which unfortunately include far right topics that are obviously unattainable to begin with).
There was a graph on this sub Reddit showing that the amount of shooting and drug related violence was on the low, can’t remember the specific but it awfully sound like the problem is simply blown out of proportion by some media and as a consequence people feel unsafe
