You mean it already happened ~3000 years ago and now we are able to see it.
This and the annual meteor showers – I’ve learned not to hold my breath.
„Soon“ as in it could happen anytime between now and a couple of thousand years.
Is this soon by normal standards or soon by astronomy standards?
As in “some time in the next millennium”?

why do I have a feeling it will be the last thing we see? Gamma rays anyone?
