This title is inaccurate. Objects coming down don’t cause Kessler Syndrome. It’s the objects that don’t come down.

Kessler syndrome describes a scenario where the accumulation of space debris in low Earth orbit becomes so dense that collisions create more debris, potentially rendering parts of Earth’s orbit unusable.

Space debris crashing into earth is fine. How is that related to Kessler Syndrome? If the news was that 1200 objects collided with eachother, I can understand how this would raise concerns.
