Gee, it’s almost like he doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Super cool he is in the position to make decisions for the rest of us!
I’d like to remind you that Rocket Lab is building a [real science probe](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus_Life_Finder) with money out of its own pocket even while under great financial pressure from SpaceX’s Rideshare program. SpaceX has no money problems but never pledged anything like that.
Mars is just a vanity project for Musk to immortalize his name. It will have no scientific or technological value to Earth other than creating money for SpaceX.
Don’t worry, NASA. Even externally, we are disgusted with Elon.

what would happen if they just ignored it? or ignored the 30 day notice and stayed until the 60th day? if the government workers were just like „you’re not official, so i’m staying put“, would they just end up arrested?
this is a genuine question(s) (maybe the wrong sub to ask it in, but feels pertinent here). i’d like to think that if i was working at one of these agencies and these DOGE weasels came in and told me to pack up, i’d tell them no. obviously i have no idea since i’m not in any of these agencies, but i would at least put up a fight.
Funny how so many of you immediately think somehow that Elon can do this. He can’t. The only thing DOGE does is discovery and then make recommendations, the actualy departments have the option. So, if NASA can’t justify keeping these people, what exactly is the problem?

No idea how this guy is qualified to analyze and downsize anything. No formal education on how to do it. No experience other than immediately gutting Twitter of the people that enabled ad revenue. NASA staff being the best of the best being manhandled by unqualified children feels like fiction.
