Smart. Then you invade the norks and take over south korea as buddy Trump wont care

Would be a huge step into China becoming a world leader. North Korea’s nuclear threats have been a frequent threat so curbing this down would be a huge W for China.

Now that is some 5D chess, meanwhile in Mar-a-Lago the orange menace is cheating at golf.

MAGA wake up this will not make America great or safe.

  4. Chinas only real problem with South Korea, is it’s closeness to the US. With the US actively burning down it’s international influence, China can afford to dispose of North Korea and pass the costs on to South Korea instead.

  5. USA is leaving the global hegemon spot open. Grande opportunity for China to make some moves here. Would definitely be a major success and give them great credibility among the ASEAN space

Not a politician but can absolutely see the offer of a knockout against North Korea and the changing administration in the US being enough to start discussions over US basing in Japan and Korea.

  7. if true, then „Americans leaving Europe to pivot in Asia“ in action looks to be hilarious.

  8. Suggests the US in the hope that it causes infighting between the countries, because they’re all selling their US bonds severally weakening the dollar.

Man China is definitely on top of this vacuum the US is allowing to exist lol

  10. Sounds great, but the world saw what happened to Ukraine, no one will never ever ever ever ever give up their nukes again.

  11. Its smart as they just need NK as a buffer from SK but they dont need psychopaths next door with nuclear weapons.

It’s hard to look at what’s happening in China from a high level without being impressed. Sadly if you zoom in things are not as peachy. We’re in for an interesting few decades.

The US has been exposed for its heavy reliance and devotion to Billionaires while China is posturing as the sane, peace keeping, stable option that most nations are desperate to partner with.

I doubt anyone expected the power to shift so quickly, even those that have been shouting from the hilltops for decades.

China will replace the US and I for one don’t mind given the current administrations animosity toward their allies. Europe and China may make a great partnership. Sounds progressive.

  14. There is a saying in German ‚Den Bock zum Gärtner machen‘. China isnt innocent in enabling North Korea in the first place to have nuclear weapons. Now waving the potential denuclearisation as a ‚reward‘ for more cooperation with others is exactly that.

  15. Who knew all it would take for china to become a force for good was to become evil.

  16. China realizing they can make a heel turn and taking it is so China of them. They probably had a 30 year plan too.

  17. This may be the start of broader movement to denuclearise smaller powers, as part of a realignment of the post-war security council to reflect modern day.

It could be countries like the UK that face international pressure next to denuclearise. While France transfers its role the EU.

    Expanding territory are we China?

It’s a good choice. Some communism is better than total communism.

  19. This is the only outcome. With the US current administration shaking hands with NOrth Korean leader. Also, shaking down Ukraine for their minerals. South Korea will develop their own nuclear weapons.

The thumbnail being XJP’s eyes and the first line being China eyes made me doubletake

  21. Positive news, but i would be cautious.

China changed it’s policy in the last decade. It went from economic expansion to territorial expansion. They appear more and more aggressive.

North korea was simply a buffer state to the heavily US supported south korea. The US changes it’s foreign policy massively under trump. The buffer north korea might get not needed anymore.

China might see the opportunity to expand it’s territory to north korea. If they have no nuclear weapons it wouldn’t be that hard. Later they might take a look at south korea.

The positive news could turn into a bad chain of events.

Comments within this post thinking it is only positive and „China steps up as a world leader“ only take a very shortsighted look into the future. China isn’t doing this out of pure good intentions.

  22. So let me sum it up: The US is losing its allies in Europe and now its Asian allies turn towards China.

I’m really getting tired of all the winning 😂

The orange turd is wrecking everything in two months others have worked for a lifetime.

I would be pleasantly surprised if China decides to finally kick NK to the curb like that. They’ve used North Korea as a buffer against democratic influences, but for a while now, come to realize that the Kim Regime is only fleecing China and Russia to keep itself alive.

  24. Maybe someday China will look to liberate America from the tyrany of the Republicans.
