    1. I guess because it is pretty „normal“ racist language in finnish message boards (like finnish 4chan) used of Indians or any other people from that region

    2. I don’t think I have ever encountered this term in conversation with finnish person.

As a native, I have never heard this term, it is not commonly used in Finland. Not even when people complain about the outsourced IT services. Probably some very niche group using it a lot or there is an error in the data.

As far as I know, there isn’t any widely known insults specifically for South-Asians, just the typical skin colour references.

First time I hear this word. I suppose the racist fora have their distinctive lingo here too. Not really a follower of those, me.

I don’t know. Only reason why I Google indian insults is to send them to scammers

As a finn I have never seen that word or heard of it. Best explanation is misspelled „Paheet“ that means „bad habits“.

It looks like people don’t know what is “pajeet”, and they google it? I learned it just now for the first time.

What was the original normal word it came from?

Just joining the „never heard of that“ gang. But based on this comment section, it’s probably a mix of a racist niche and people having typos trying to spell „paheet“, j and h are right next to each other on the keyboard so wouldn’t be surprised at least a part of it comes from that.

I have no idea what that word even means.
Only word even similar I know is character from American cartoon Phineas and Ferb where a boy is named Paljeet.

    10. > Got the usual answer pakistan, bangladesh, canada the usual racist trinity.

No need to make these kind of generalizations.

I think there is something with the data here, maybe vpns. I can imagine some kids using it, but not enough that make it top3.

To think about it, it is also not using the term, but googling it. Maybe Finns encounter it online in English-speaking net and have to search for it in order to see what that means.

I don’t know much about Finnish youth culture of course, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Russians don’t use that term at all – and most of them use the Russian segment of the Internet, Russian is a big language. And yet the country is blue. So it is definitely something with the data.

Eh? What is pajeet? I have never heard of such. I mean, it could be the plural of ”paje” but that doesn’t mean anything either to my understanding so ehh

Never heard of this word in my life.
Might be used in some corner of Ylilauta, finnish 4chan, but outside it is not normally used.

The only place where I encountered this word is asia_irl sub. South Asians are calling each other that. I still don’t know what it means
