Kontext: Ich habe meine Beiträge bereits mit einer anderen Beitragsnummer bezahlt, die mir seit meinem letzten Aufenthalt hier zugewiesen wurde. Dann bemerkte ich etwas Seltsames, dass ich diesen und den Vormonat einen Brief mit einer neuen Beitragsnummer erhielt, in dem stand, dass ich ihnen diesen Betrag schulde. Ich bin äußerst schockiert und ein wenig verängstigt, da ich aufgrund einer anderen Beitragsnummer dachte, dass es sich bei der vorherigen Nachricht um Betrug handelte. Was soll ich machen? Ich habe dies am 16. April erhalten. Kann ich diesem Schreiben noch widersprechen?

How about telling them that you’ve already paid, tell them the contribution number, stopping ignoring letters and getting on touch with them?
I know this is a radical idea here, but hear me out: You could contact them and try to sort it out with them directly.
Send them a letter in which you say you are already paying for your home under your other Beitragsnummer. Ask them why they have assigned you two Beitragsnummern, and which you should use in the future.
Paperwork doesn’t go away in Germany. Never ignore letters.
I’ve had a couple issues with the Rundfunkbeitrag as well, and I’ve solved all the problems by calling them by phone. Sometimes you have to insist because the lines are a bit busy, but it’s possible to get in contact with them. And their workers (at least in my experience) have always been nice and helpful.
I wish more people would protest against this. The dumbest thing in this country is the Rundfunkbeitrag.
The whole process to force the people into German TV is ashaming and uniqe worldwide, afaik !!!!!
Send a letter or better a fax.
