This is good news.
Should have also sent buses for Armenians who want to repatriate.
It will be opened for 10 days for the assistance, however i have several **pragmatic** remarks.
Sending aid is a good thing, no matter to whom it is, however,
Why 10 days?
Is this aimed at a friendlier Syria? or a gesture to Turkey? or both?
In a way it is good that Turkey doesn’t see us as a problem to reaching Syrians, even if it’s just aid, in a way it will still get us slight influence.
Why aren’t we trying to get real influence or investment opportunities in Syria? such as contracts for rebuilding or supplies?
The biggest questions are,
If the government is willing to send aid and not aid Armenians in Syria to relocate, those willing at least. It just makes me incline more that the Armenian government does not want them. Yes it’s not the same budget, but still, aid is not exactly very cheap either, + there are a lot of skilled Armenians in Syria.
If this is going to be another episode of the government rewarding Spayka, one of the largest agricultural companies in Armenia, with all that aid, then they are actively promoting oligarchs. I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t a corruption case in this.
