Israel warned of “total destruction” as it launched a new ground operation in Gaza, threatening to drag both sides back to all-out war and all but collapsing January’s ceasefire deal with Hamas.

All so pointless given that Netanyahu is unwilling to move to stage 2 of a deal, Hamas at this point has close to no interest in longterm ceasefire if Israel is unwillingly to grant anything they want like the Philadephia corridor or an end to the war.
Threatened total destruction? Have they actually left anything standing? Last few pictures I saw made Gaza look pretty post-apocalyptic already.
The ceasefire ended, in part because Hamas refuses to release the hostages it continues to hold. Israel is under no obligation to honor the empty space where a ceasefire would be if that ceasefire had not expired.
Ahh yes, people can start worrying for the radical muslims again, instead of demanding the release of the hostages, which would have ended this war.
