The one major drawback is, that it (probably) restarts the 24 months of minimum contract duration (as it counts as a new contract). If you are fine with this, go ahead. Have done this multiple times myself.

Often times these contracts have a lower price for the first 6 months and then it gets bumped up for the rest of the contracts duration. You’d have to check the fine print, if that’s the case here, but it doesn’t look like it to me. As the other post said, the main reason for them to offer you this is to reset your contracts minimum duration.
