Trump reposted Modi’s interview with Lex on Truth Social, so I’d imagine Modi joined the platform as a way of saying thank you. He probably used a VPN to join it too as the Truth Social app isn’t available in India.
Pretty obvious I should think – Trump’s dealings blur the lines between business and personal. So Modi is doing him a big (optics wise) personal favor (which costs nothing to either India or to Modi) in hopes of either getting some favorable deal or avoiding some nastiness (tariffs). And getting in Trump’s good books.
