    1. Submission Statement: „Experience suggests that federally funded outreach to the world produces a very significant return on investment.“ Walter Clemens discusses the significance of US government-funded media, particularly Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, in providing truthful information to oppressed populations. Clemens argues that such funding is a worthwhile investment, noting historical examples where US broadcasting made a difference. The termination of funding for RFE/RL could be a detrimental move that aids America’s adversaries and undermines democratic values.

It’s funny Americans just assume anything from the US is „truth“ and anything from more authoritarian governments is false. Have some self-reflection. The US lies constantly to its own people, both through government-sponsored propaganda (Left vs right lies against each other), and private corporations (news media and TV channels paid for by political lobbying). There is literally a deluge of lies within the US, yet, Americans don’t believe the US will lie about their biggest geopolitical competitors?

[Sure, remember those Filipinos who were „oppressed“ by Chinese vaccines that worked and were cheaper? They should’ve been grateful for US-provided truth about anti-vax.](https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-covid-propaganda/)
