After nearly 100 billion dollars spent on the technology, Meta is still pushing for wide adoption of XR technologies. People remain lukewarm on the tech so despite all their hope, is there really an iPhone moment just waiting to be tapped into? I’m not sure if you can really beat the form factor of a smartphone.

They should make a smart glove with a touchscreen in the palm so youre basically just holding your phone all the time.
And also it should have a wrist mounted laser beam that can melt steel. That part isnt really relevant to the metaverse aspect but I still think itd be a good selling point.

Why not make glasses that works together with the phone? The Eyewear doesn’t need to contain all the compute, which will save on bulk and battery life. If they also made their own phone or a dedicated compute wearable device, even better.

I don’t know what the future will look like, but you can be sure that whatever Meta is pushing, it won’t look like that.

I would totally buy “smart glasses” that automatically adjust to reading and sunlight (Transitions are barely adequate), but the other stuff they can keep.

Well, Tech executives have never been wrong in their predictions! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get to my Web3 Meta Horizons meeting; can’t just be playing on the Ouya all day!
