I think it is already pretty good. I would opt for the 3rd design draft and would add „Gozo“ with a G in a bigger letter size in the empty grey area upper right. Thus it does not overlap with other symbols.
M8 good initiative, first of all. I am a graphic designer by education and while I respect your efforts, it looks very amateur..
Now, yes, I am lazy and simply asked GPT to generate one, and I believe it looks better. Far from perfect and you would also need to convert everything into vectors, but at least it can serve as an idea for a more decent logo.
