„Die Teams in der Michoud Assembly-Einrichtung der NASA in New Orleans bewegen den Vorwärtsrock, der für die Kernstufe von SLS (Space Launch System) für die Artemis IV-Mission der Agentur verwendet wird, in das vertikale Versammlungszentrum am 2. Dezember. Der Vorwärtsrock erhält seinen Stürmer und nach dem Vorwärtsrand durch einen Umzusatz-Verstürze-Verschiebungsprozess. Sieben Ringe werden in der Produktion der Kernbühne verwendet. Sie bieten Versteifung für die Kuppelstrukturen auf den Treibmitteltanks und dienen wie am Vorwärtsrock als Befestigungspunkte für die Hauptkomponenten zur Bildung der SLS -Kernstufe.
Der Vorwärtsrock ist eines von fünf Hauptelementen, die die 212 Fuß hohe Raketenbühne ausmachen. Die Kernbühne produziert zusammen mit seinen vier Rs-25-Motoren mehr als zwei Millionen Pfund Schub, um das Orion-Raumschiff von NASA, Astronauten und Vorräte über die Erdumlaufbahn und die Mondoberfläche für Artemis zu starten. “

Can you imagine a world where NASA has 10x budget and they’re running that thing nonstop cranking out rocket segments? 😍
even my main 3d printer that i’ve never cracked open is less tidy and well maintained. Those drag chains are taller than a person! So freaking cool to see what you need to build at that size.
Thanks for posting these updates. I know the building from my ET years. But, wow, the tooling is impressive! One of my former coworkers is still at MAF and part of the Artemis team.
