Groen steht am Rande des totalen Zusammenbruchs, ohne Zweifel.
In den Niederlanden begannen Groenlinks tatsächlich mit PVDA (sie sind wie ein Vooruit in Flandern, nicht zu verwechseln mit dem linken belgischen PVDA). Seitdem kombinierten sie nicht nur ihre Stimmen, sondern bekamen auch viel mehr.
Es gibt erhebliche Diskussionen, um bis 2026 tatsächlich zu einer Partei zu führen. Unwahrscheinlich, aber möglich.
Es ist Zeit, Kräfte zu kombinieren.
Vooruit-Groen hätte 20% der Stimmen und sie wären buchstäblich größer als Vlaams Belang.

If Groen is to survive and truly remain a left-wing force, it should not only merge with Vooruit but also include the Belgian PvdA. Their programs are nearly identical, and PvdA could serve as the strong left-wing backbone that keeps the party from drifting into neoliberal nonsense.
Without them, the risk is that figures like Connor Rousseau will continue steering the party further to the right, diluting its progressive ideals in favor of opportunism. A united front with PvdA would not only strengthen the movement but ensure that it remains committed to real leftist policies rather than pandering to the center-right.
This would be a positive for Groen maybe, but Vooruit would shoot in its own foot. Vooruit has gone to the right to pull people too them. (Harder on immigration etc.). Making Vooruit more left again would lose the more centrum voters who don’t want the „Geitenwollensokken“ politiek.
If that were to happen I’d never ever vote for Vooruit ever again. The reason why I don’t vote for Groen, or any other green party for that matter, is that some of their policies (e.g., nuclear exit) are based on completely wacko fear theories, while they’ll happily enable truly environmentally disastrous solutions to achieve those aforementioned policies (e.g., switching to gas and helping to enable more coal burning in Germany.)
That ship has sailed for Groen! I think.
They would have had my vote if they would actually be a GREEN party instead of an extreme-left party with some misinformed green touches.
What if I want to vote Green but not left?
Maybe electorally it makes sense but not sure that would be a good idea for ecology sadly. When you start equating ecology with left wing economic measures you automatically lose a big part of the population and thus any chance at really tackling the CO2 emissions problem.
