I had this excel sheet for many years,
Source: taken from my last pay stub of each year which lists base and benefits (bonus, OT/Travel, other benefits)Tool: Excel (yes I’m old school)
Decided to post following [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/comments/1bhwag7/oc_visualization_of_salary_over_20_years/)
44yo male, engineer (although never really worked as engineer) with a career in supply chain, continuous employment in the same company since 2010 although I’ve changed roles pretty much every 2 years. Currently manager of a team in sourcing.
Added both forward and backward adjusted for inflation (Canada CPI index). Interesting that my $8k raise in 2021 only gave me $1k after inflation. It’s also showing that bonus (highly variable) has sometimes a large impact on overall income. Like my 2019 to 2020 base salary was almost flat, but $8k less in bonus.
Edit: Forgot to add: Got laid off in 2010 and was on EI for 4 months, hence the large increase in 2011 (full year salary)
