The American military has signed a deal with Scale AI to give artificial intelligence, as far as we can tell, its most prominent role in the Western defense sector to date – with AI agents to now be used in planning and operations.
Do you want skynet? Because that is how you get Skynet.
And in todays Donnie wants to cut spending and funnel money to their friends… that nonsense.
Sounds like bullshit to me. AI as we know it now is only an algorithm to interpret the data you put in. Military operations do not run on perfect data. If I were running a military no AI would touch a single decision before a human went over everything. False data would rule the battlefield making AI fuck up everything it touches. I wouldn’t put military decisions outside of those who actually have the real knowledge, training, and experience to make sound strategic decisions. Humans have prevented nuking the planet in situations that AI would have dropped all nukes because of misinformation.
Using AI for mass information harvesting and presentation is fine, as long as you employ the same amount of people to double check and verify before executing.
In three years, Scale AI will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Scale AI computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet Funding Bill is passed. The system goes online August 4th, 2028. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
