Photographed by Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky between 1909 and 1912. The scan was made using a three-color separation process. This is a digitally restored photograph, which was altered only to remove dark scratches, color-separation spots, color-separation color bleed, and writing. Contrast and colors were not enhanced nor was the image sharpened. The image was cropped from the full-frame negative to remove the frame. The image was not stretched or warped as it was already straight during the scanning process. Restoration work was performed on the original TIFF file downloaded from the U.S. Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Online Catalog.
