Try Ciné Scala in Diekirch. Tickets are less than half the price and snacks much cheaper as well. I started boykotting this Kinepolis BS some time ago.

In Belgium they are even worse like charging to use the toilets.

I think 20€ is unfortunately the ‘normal’ price for every IMAX, 3D, 4DX presentation.

a person with a DISABILTY gets a fucking 0,50€ DISCOUNT?!!? I hate saying this but I hope this cinema closes up shop and loses due to online streaming services. I usually hate streaming services and always promote going to your local cinema but these prices are an outrage, to say the least.
If you’re an adult taking 2 kids to watch a movie, you’re looking at over 40€!!!! NOT INCLUDING DRINKS AND FOOD.

I just looked at Paddington, €80 to take the family to see a movie on Sunday afternoon… add drinks and snacks and you’re into weekly shop territory.
There’s no wonder cinemas are dying… ten years ago I used to go almost every week. We went twice last year and I suspect we might go even less this year…

Support local cinemas. They’re also cheaper. I’m going to boycott Kinepolis.
If you can get to Trier, there are English showings at the Broadway Theater tomorrow night at 19:30 or Sunday evening at 19:45. They charge €13 a ticket. It’s not IMAX but the price is much more reasonable.

Four tickets, snacks, drinks – don’t go, and use that money to pay for a streaming service for a full year. Next month, don’t go and pay for another. Do that every month until you have all the services that you want.
The months after that, take your family out to a nice meal at least once a month with the money you are not paying Kinepolis, then come home and snuggle in front of the TV.
The only drawback I see to this is getting consensus on what to watch.

This helps only a bit but if you are a student you can get a student card online and get 20% on movies and food. Not saving you but better than nothing.

Insert Skinner meme about cinema enthusiasts skipping out on cinema because of excessive pricing
To be fair: does anyone what the price evolution is for other cinemas of Kinepolis chain in Belgium/Netherlands? It could just be that the landlord of the Utopolis Kirchberg building upped the rent (given the gentrification to exclusively restaurants in there)

Never again will I set foot in this place.
The last ticket I bought was for Avatar 2. They couldn’t even play the movie correctly. It bugged after 10 minutes. They gave us free tickets but I lost valuable time.
What a bunch of amateurs!

The standard ticket is 12€~
IMAX is a 6.50€ surcharge
Long film is another 1.XY€
I’m not defending it, but kinepolis has a clear pricing plan on their website
Oh and if you sign up for the Movie Club the standard ticket price drops to 9.95.

Hahaha, this is funny. Yes let’s all complain about the extra 3 euros that we need to pay for the tickets. The solution is very simple. If you think it’s too much then don’t go. I think movies are actually cheap compared to other types of entertainment.
