Orban lehnt den EU -Beitritt der Ukraine ab und behauptet, es würde Ungarn

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has firmly opposed Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union, asserting that it would be catastrophic for Hungary. He argued that Ukraine’s membership would devastate Hungary’s agricultural sector, cripple its national economy, and lead to an uncontrollable influx of crime. Orbán’s objections are rooted in his alignment with Russia and his longstanding skepticism about Western support for Ukraine. Despite acknowledging that the situation could change in the future, he deems Ukraine’s EU entry „unthinkable“ under current circumstances.

Orbán, known for his pro-Russian stance, has used Hungary’s veto power within the EU to block key measures aimed at aiding Ukraine, including military support and progress toward EU membership. His government has demanded concessions from Ukraine, such as guarantees over gas transit, in exchange for supporting EU sanctions against Russia. While Ukraine has made significant strides toward EU membership, Orbán’s continued opposition highlights the tension within the European Union, where Hungary’s position on Ukraine remains a significant obstacle.

USA right now choose Realpolitik. If Europe wants to choose opposite it should outright state that Russia is fascistic state, „Nazi is Back!“, and that Orban is outright ally of such „New Nazi.“

Therefore his/Hungary inclusion into EU project is complete absurd.

Ukraine needs to accept that Ukraine and NATO accession are off the table and peace means ceding land. Russia won, cede some land, rebuild, and move on.
