Submission Statement : In Europe, reactions to the meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky are genuinely dismayed. What took place in the Oval Office far exceeded worst expectations regarding how bluntly Trump intends to end the war. Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly emphasized ending the war between Russia and Ukraine as a key issue, but he never specified how he planned to do it.

The Baltic States have reason to be concerned and to ask critical questions. What can be done to further strengthen their security? What is the state of their alliances? Has Europe taken the initiative? Has London?

Seems like the leaders of the free world are ready to throw the baltics under the bus. Great message they send ignoring them in this meeting.

    3. They should have invited them too………it’s like the circus: the more people enters, the more beasts you see!

I don’t know, but I’d like to think that it’s more likely the Baltics aren’t really in a position to offer security assurances to Ukraine, on the basis that they’re small nations that border Russia themselves and they’d likely be the next targets of Russian aggression.

Their resources shouldn’t really be distributed to another nation on that basis. I do still think it’s a bit of a poor decision from Keir Starmer, but overall he’s done a good job bringing Europeans together, despite everything the UK has gone through with the EU.
