No, I certainly feel like it has. Aldi or Lidl store brand (like in the picture) used to be like 2.49 a few years ago. Spee was also cheap. They’re all like 4 something now 😢

We use one of those ecoeggs (Waschei). It’s way cheaper. Normal detergent just for selected stuff here and there. A relative bought it once, didn’t like it and gave it to us for free (didn’t smell like a flowers ass or something, idk). Washing since 2017 with that stuff and we still have enough for the next 20 years I guess.

Whilst the price seems actually quite ok (I swear I paid more some months ago), here is something that could be related: EUDR.
This antideforestation regulation will affect the raw materials that are used in manufacturing surfactants for cleaning and laudry products. Lot’s of these products contain derivatives from palm oil. And palm oil comes from fields where the farmers have such small fields, that it is not economically viable to „prove“ that is not a deforested area. So they will sell this to china whilst we will get the more expensive raw material.
In other terms, it is not simply „inflation“.

you should stick to the compact powder detergent, better for your laundry, easier to carry, not too expensive and the aldi and lidl stuff is pretty ok [https://www.testberichte.de/p/lidl-formil-tests/ultra-plus-testbericht.html](https://www.testberichte.de/p/lidl-formil-tests/ultra-plus-testbericht.html)

That’s a $40 CAD container where I’m at. So that’s a steal

If you are willing to invest some time and give away your e Mail adress and bank info you can get detergent completely for free via cash back. In the last at least 3 to 4 years if not longer I didn’t pay anything for detergent unless it was something special like wool.
Right now you can get Ariel, Persil and Perwoll for bright colours for free. But check the conditions, sometimes it needs to be labeled or just for one size and so on.

I am not saying that it didn’t „explode“ in your supermarket, but overall it does not seem to have been the case: https://de.statista.com/statistik/daten/studie/1334219/umfrage/entwicklung-der-monatlichen-erzeugerpreise-fuer-wasch-und-reinigungsmittel/
It’s you.
