Es ist schön, ein Taxi zum und vom Flughafen hier in Luxemburg zu bekommen, aber es ist manchmal zu teuer. Hoffentlich hilft die Straßenbahn dem.

I took the taxi from the airport to my place in Bonnevoie (new to the city mistake). The ride was about 12min with no traffic and I paid 65€…. I was so shocked lol
Help what? To reduce taxi fares? Gut feeling is that in the best case, the fares won’t change, in the worst case – increase further. Let’s be realistic – their target audience is primarily people on business trips compensated by the companies who don’t really care how much does it cost.
That was my first flight experience and my first visit to Europe. I traveled from my city to my country’s capital and then flew to Luxembourg. The distance from my city to the capital is about 2,500 km, and the flight cost was approximately 100 euros. From Findel, I took a taxi to Esch, which cost around 80 euros. I still can’t believe how that was even possible! It’s been years, and I still smile when I think about that incident.
It’s a regulated cartel with limited entry options for outside players, like many other things here (glasses, real estate developers, furniture shops etc.). Thus inflated prices.
I took the taxi from the airport to Neudorf and paid 45 , new to city . It was crazy times .

Tram opens this weekend… it won’t change taxi prices at all.
We hired a bus a couple of months ago. It was cheaper than 3 taxis and made a handful of stops.
