It’s deliberate, USA elected a rapist felon who tried an insurrection. It’s very obvious trump and musk are working for Russia and China to destroy USA. USA is not defending itself

    2. Submission statement:

      > Again, the lesson is clear: America cannot be trusted, and all its former allies should start preparing for the worst, including developing their own nuclear deterrents in case of war with the U.S. itself. Some reserve currency replacement must be found, and new supply chains not reliant on the U.S. set up. Crash military buildups must be carried out to replace American security guarantees. You’d be a fool to rely on any American promises whatsoever, including ones made by Trump or Musk. These men lie as easily as they breathe.

whatever man. as long as noone is invading my country or gestapo is abducting citizens i’m tuning tf out. can’t control this shit

    4. Brilliantly put, this is exactly how I feel. How to rescue defeat from the jaws of success. Trust obliterated in one month.

However – the element missing from the article is that these people weren’t elected by nobody.

The US public gave this a try before and overall approved* of having a criminal and a liar for a president. So whilst it is still incredibly dumb, there are other factors here that need explaining.

For a complex range of reasons, sufficient US citizens did not feel happy with the status quo, did not feel they were prospering sufficiently and fancied giving this lunacy a go instead.

Unpicking why that is is the really interesting topic to me.

But yes, trust has been the first major casualty of this episode.

*Saying this with full recognition that many many millions of Americans did not approve. As a citizen of Brexit-land I know the feeling of being tarred with one brush far too well unfortunately.

The collapse of the American Empire already started back in the 70s. You are just seeing the death spasms.

Sadly, America and Israel are stronger militarily than ever before…

    7. They are saying Musk and Trump but forgetting the literal Elephant in the room. By just assigning this collapse to them two they attempt to minimize the Republican partys part in this folly. So when elections come up it will allow the voters who happen to have a serious case of selective memory to support that party again.

I think most likely they will use Musk as a scapegoat in the end so Trump voters will feel better about their „lord and savior“. But they will make sure to separate all blame away from the party when the elections come up. And again the people will fall for it (last election killed the little optimism i had left).

What are the benefits to the average American – or the average Trump voter – of American imperialism?

If we say there more tangible benefits to be lost, are we saying Imperialism is good? That would be a different tone than what I heard the last 10-15 years…
