Diplomatic efforts between the U.S. and North Korea have remained stalled since the collapse of nuclear negotiations between former President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un in 2019. While Trump and Kim met three times in 2018 and 2019, talks ultimately broke down over disagreements regarding sanctions relief and the North’s disarmament steps.
Pyongyang has since shifted its foreign policy focus toward Russia. North Korea has supplied military equipment to Moscow amid Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine, a move that has raised concerns in Seoul and Washington. In exchange, analysts suggest North Korea could be receiving economic aid and military technology that may further advance its weapons programs.
North Korea is irrelevant, I don’t know why anyone cares.
They have no interest in a war with South Korea (and the US!). They would lose and they know it.
They have basically no economy and aren’t trading with anyone besides China / Russia. No one in the West is smoking North Korean cigars.
They won’t launch a nuke anywhere because that would be the end of the Kim Jong Un regime and probably North Korea as we know it. Nukes are a useful deterrent but not very useful offensively if your goal is to exist in the future.
Sending a token force into Kursk is literally the only thing North Korea has done of note in decades. Everything else, every threat and comment, is just political theater.
Don’t worry Kim you will get to keep your nukes. Donnie boy just lying about why he has Musk dismantling the US nuclear arsenal. It’s really so he can sell America to Putin.
