„Relationships between AI chatbots and humans are becoming more commonplace. Take [Replika](https://archive.is/o/UNMuA/https://www.businessinsider.com/when-your-ai-says-she-loves-you-2023-10), a dating app launched in 2017 that lets users create customized romantic chatbots. By 2023, it had about 676,000 daily active users, with the average user spending two hours a day on the app, according to figures from Apptopia.
It’s not only Replika users. One in four people admitted to flirting with a chatbot either knowingly or unknowingly, according to a survey conducted by Sam Altman’s futuristic project, World, formerly known as Worldcoin. The company surveyed 90,000 of the 25 million people on its network about their feelings on love in the age of AI. The majority of respondents said they are still wary of interacting with bots. About 90% said they want dating apps to have a system for verifying real humans. About 60% of users said they have either suspected or discovered that they matched with a bot.“

If flirting means feeling a compulsion to say thank you when the AI helps me solve a problem then, guilty.

Most interaction on line is probably chat bots anyway

I do give chatGPT a little emoji kiss when it helps me figure out why my excel macros aren’t working.

Does it count as flirting if I tell an AI chatbot to do something physically impossible with a rake?

In this era, we can assume any online account is controlled by Ai, because it’s hard for us to know who’s behind it. And also it’s the account not the real human behind it. (If you think I’m a AI account, that won’t offend me.)
Btw, even I am a human, this account is actually the property of this platform, I just open it rent it use it and generate data. Or maybe in the future the platform will decide to replace me with their bot, who can predict. My account may be stolen.
Any way, my account is not me.

If we all live in a simulation, then aren’t we all flirting with AI chatbots and we just don’t realize it? 😮
