A Pro-Hezbollah mob attacked and torched clearly marked UN vehicles in Beirut. UNIFIL’s outgoing Deputy Chief was wounded, though I can’t seem to find information about his condition.
This happened after and could be connected to Lebanon refusing 2 Iranian planes of landing, after Israel warned that they carry cash from Iran for Hezbollah.
A few interesting things to note here are how Iran has trouble giving resources to their proxies after the fall of Assad in Syria. How the new Lebanese government already has trouble controlling the violent terrorist sympathizers of Hezbollah, and also raises questions about the viability of this government, which has minor elements of Hezbollah in it’s own ranks.
