Trump Friedensplan für Gaza

Here are my thoughts on how a Gaza peace deal could look, please just approach this with an open mind.

Let’s say these are the terms of the proposal:

New cities created in Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. These cities are away from the Israeli border and too far out of range for Hamas’ rockets to be effective.

Infrastructure is created to link them areas such as Arish, Haql, Tabuk and Amman so opportunities are there for Palestinians to integrate in to their new communities.

Palestinians are offered generous payments to relocate. Those who wish to take the payments are relocated by US agencies, and not the Israeli military.

The US and Israel agree to a deal to pay the recipient countries to build and develop the new communities. Residents of Gaza and the West Bank are encouraged to relocate to the new developments.

US offers recipient countries favourable terms on trade and agrees to significant investments and foreign aid.

Palestinians are not allowed to be involved with the politics of the recipient countries for an agreed amount of time, a decade or more.

The Gaza strip is occupied by the Israeli military. They can operate and build along the corridors to facilitate the relocation of residents and maintain security. Areas are gradually siphoned off for development zones.

Hamas tunnels are located and destroyed.

US companies demolish the rubble and develop the strip mimicking Dubai, with a focus on driving international tourism to the area. Housing is developed for the future population.

After a decade, Palestinians are allowed to return, with some housing reserved for those who wish to.

Eventually elections are held with the population of Israelis, overseas immigrant workers and returning Palestinians.

I realise there are a lot of complications on doing something of this scale, but you get the high-level proposal. If this worked, I think this would be a better alternative to the fighting that has happened over the last few decades. This would eventually lead to a two-state solution, but giving the Palestinians a state where they could happily co-exist with Israel without resorting to terrorism.
