SS: REVERSING THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S REMOVAL OF THE HOUTHIS FROM THE FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION LIST: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order Re-Designating Ansar Allah (also known as the Houthis) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
This is not the first time Trump has done this, it was one of the last things he did before leaving office in 2021. Biden had reversed the decision in 1 month after taking office.
This move is said to reduce the power of the Houthi rebels and ensure that peace is maintained within the region.
Honestly, why did Biden even remove the designation in the first place? This one seems pretty clear cut to me.
Good move. Like Biden or not, this was a huge mistake on his government’s part.
The Houthis are violent extremist Islamists who’s very flag calls for violence. They brought back slavery, they indiscriminately attack shipping lanes and hurt trade all over the world. They launch ballistic missiles and drones indiscriminately and unprovoked on other nations.
