It is both normal and you should report it.
We have a similar problem in Paralimni now. The municipality took away half our containers in some areas because now it’s winter and there are no tourists. And now people just put the trash next to the over-flowing containers. The garbage truck cannot complete it’s rounds in time because they reduced the number of trucks. So some spots don’t get garbage collection for over a week. The cats and rats then tear open the trash and the wind then spreads it.
Report it
Worst part is, there is a school behind the camera
The pile on the right is paper recycling the pile on the left is plasric recycling. And the dark green ones is actual trash. This is normal before trash/recycling day. Was it ALL picked up the following morning?
We must be neighbors.
I walk past this pile of garbage every day, sometimes it’s cleaned up, but most of the time there is a huge pile of boxes etc. I think this garbage is generated by businesses, cafes nearby.
There is a volunteer organization called City Friends Club and a couple of times we have cleaned up this pile of trash ourselves. If you find a channel that responds to this kind of thing – please share it
from what I have seen, too many people living in Cyprus & especially in Limassol don’t care about the garbage that piles up in the streets & will not go the extra few steps to put trash in a bin if one is near.
I pick up trash all the time & will toss it into one of the green bins & have had people tell me that I shouldn’t do that because the trash is dirty. I mean WTF? if the trash is in the street and there are bins available why wouldn’t a normal person pick it up & toss it into the bin?
Limassol is out of control with the trash as well as the parking situation & it hasn’t gotten any better in all the years that I have lived here.
It’s normal.
Cypriots consider anything that is not their own house to be a free garbage dump. Doesn’t matter if it’s in the city, in the countryside, other people’s property. Just a 3rd world dump your shit anywhere mentality.
„Pay as you throw will fix this“ lol
