    1. The CLV will be an Electron class vehicle taking 250-300kg to a 500km orbit. Latest round of engine hot firing scheduled to take place within the next few weeks.

Very first hot firing of engine (pressure fed) 6 months ago. Current work is focusing on electro-pumps.

Where will they be launching from? I’m guessing somewhere far up north like Limpopo?

I like how the smallest rocket is called Phoenix. Pretty cool name, but then the next one is just called Steve.

This post makes the point for those who argue that we should be focusing our resources and priorities down on earth where we need them the most. I’m not making that argument, but I can see that side when you have a community like South Africa spending it’s time and money on rockets.

    6. Finally, reality might match my Zulus in space achievements from the Civilization video game series. Which is far better than Gandhi nuking everyone.

It’s a shame that they couldn’t keep going with their Israeli-ICBM-derived launch vehicles in the 90s. They could at least be where Japan is now…

    8. It is very “new South Africa” in that it is black and white and works together.

The metaphor will be more political if it all blows up :-/

Country that can’t provide 24/7 electricity is spending money to play-act that they have a space program

    10. I can’t be the only one to notice that they look suspiciously close to SpaceX rockets 🤔🤨🧐

Russian style priorities. Who cares about cost of living when you can brag about a shiny new rocket…
