Hallo! Ich muss eine Wohnung (Baujahr ca. 2012) im Bezirk Larnaca renovieren.
Ich habe in den Zimmern Steckdosen für Telefon gefunden.
Der im Wohnzimmer verbirgt 2 Kanäle/Röhren. Auf der linken Seite befindet sich ein Kabel mit 2 Adern und natürlich RJ11-Steckern. In der rechten Röhre befindet sich ein Ethernet-Kabel, das offensichtlich mit der früher verwendeten Ghofi-Antenne auf dem Dach verbunden ist.
In den Schlafzimmern gibt es Telefonsteckdosen mit jeweils 2 Leitungen.
Nachdem es in Zukunft keine Verwendung mehr für Festnetztelefone geben wird, frage ich mich, ob ich die Röhren nicht zum Durchziehen von CAT6-Kabeln nutzen und diese über einen Hub mit dem Router verbinden könnte.
Vermutlich kennt das jemand aus eigenen DIY-Projekten oder aus beruflichen Gründen?

you can. if the electrician ( I am one ) did the tubing and wiring of the phones correctly all should terminate in the same place ( usually an auxiliary box often wooden ) and you can put the router there
You can. Contact any electrician. You need more than one person to do it, because you need to replace cables, and this is physically challenging task). You also need to replace sockets. I’d say it would cost about €25 per socket at large number of sockets, or €50 per socket if it’s one or two.
PS If it’s rental property, ask landlord permssion before.
You can remove existing cables (and sockets) and replace it with CAT6 cables with RJ45 sockets. It will be the right thing to do.
Or you can buy RJ45 sockets and use existing wires which will require you to connect proper wires to proper pins of the socket and will limit you to 100mbit/s connection speed. Also you can face another issues if cables are in bad condition or distance is long.
Did this a few years ago to all telephone sockets throughout the house.
If anyone can do this in Nicosia let me know to discuss it for some sockets lol
Very easy did that in a rental then restored the original cables before moving out…
Yes, I did that in my house, although I am not really qualified to do so.
You can use the existing cable to help you pass the ethernet cable.
I wasn’t able to use the socket though only passed the cable directly to the computer/router, but I think it is because I don’t know how.
Called a guy a month ago in Limassol to do this exact stuff.
Most electricians would say yes but its actually a bit more complicated. Tel lines are RJ11 and ethernet is RJ45, RJ11 uses 4/6 of the same twisted Ethernet wire. However, most electricians don’t bother to properly terminate the wires to a panel or ideally a keystone panel and even worse most of thew used to these connections in series instead of parallel.
TLDR: if the wiring was done in series, you d have to drop new cables.
