Idk bout u but after seeing the private use of fireworks in berlin. The middle of the facking street they put that shit and just ways that pose a huge danger to life both pedestrian and driver. I think there has to be some control over the handling with it. While smaller cities=smaller community less reckless people so maybe less control over that needed there imo.
In linz in austria ive never experienced anything so reckless as what i saw on video in berlin.
They do that every year by the way, it isn’t something new.
And yes, fireworks is dangerous, especially when people are drunk.
Banning it is almost as unpopular than a speed limit on the Autobahn although.
The bad thing is that usually other people get injured, because of idiots who don’t know or care how to be safe with fireworks. There should be a warning: If you use this, you forfeit help when you injure yourself.
Fireworks are just one of those stupid human things. They are so dumb, wasteful, damaging. We’d be SO much better off without them for so many reasons.

Yesterday I saw some 40’s olds in front of a Späti, trowing fireworks near cars passing by, that’s unacceptable. I am from Brazil and we banned the strong and loud fireworks in my city during the midsummer celebrations („São João“). So banning can be done and enforced.
It saves time/resources for hospital staff, so it saves public money. Regulations are needed. I don’t understand the refusal to be strict on this topic, particularly during an economic recession.
This type of fireworks is not even „fun“. I don’t know a single brazilian who said „that’s nice and fun“. We know what a real party looks like. This cringe and wasteful stuff ain’t that.
Pets are scared of these sounds

My dog would agree with a national fireworks ban.
For me it’s not so much the immediate danger, but the ridiculous amount of pollution and harmful substances, that are created without any real benefit. Also it is a big waste of money and all sorts of resources, that should be used otherwise.
This is a „dinner for one“ article. The same procedure as every year.
Big calls for banning and nothing is done.
I’m all for restrictions but I know it probably won’t happen so I hole up every 31st and watch (and enjoy) the chaos from my high rise where my family and I are safe and then that’s it until next year.
