      Thanks for doing this. That said, with most cantons having only one respondant, it’s unfortunately not so relevant (eg Solothurn size)

As the other comment pointed out, these aren’t really statistically significant samples (total number of responses was ~~*42*~~ ~~44~~ ~~46~~ 52, including some with missing data), but I still thought it was interesting to see. Let me know if you have any questions.

      Edit 4: Note in the title of both the graph and the post, it’s about `r/Switzerland`’s rents. Not Swiss rents at large. If I wanted Swiss rents I’d have scraped a real estate website. What I wanted to do though was show the rents paid by the **Redditors**.

      Last two graphs should be presented in a descending order (left to right).

      Like others have pointed, the small number of observations yields this non-useful for inference making.

      Great visualization!! Shame the pool is small. Therefore thank u really much. There should be more infographics like that. I check some state dataviz but the crossing you do here in its simplicity is quite descriptive and self-explanatory. At least it talks more to me than some other federal stats. Its a great start.

      Maybe it‘s the small sample size or the visualisation but I think almost the same price and size for both City and non City is hard to believe.

      Any insights on that?

      I know you only did the visualization, but step 1 in any proper data visualization process is to make sure you don’t plot anything that could be misleading. Bar charts depicting averages in a certain break suggest there is a sufficient sample behind each bar/category. (/edit I know you show sample size per canton directly below, but this still shouldn’t be done). You can’t split an already tiny sample to cantons, leaving half of the cantons with a single data point, and the rest with not really much more.

      Also, if you want to show linear regression like in the top left, maybe add some statistics there as well… e.g. regression factor/ beta (same as slope when there is only one independent variable), p, R squared.

      Definitely a small sample size but it seems like Basel is quite cheap in comparison to other big cities. I wonder if having part of the city in France and Germany has a downward effect on the prices in the Swiss part.

      Just some info, I would drop posts for more answers at saturday or sunday between 7:00 an 07:30 for the maximum answers.

      I would also try to write a post in the other swiss subreddits like r/buenzli, r/schwiiz or r/askswitzerland but with an excel chart with every user and please ask the mods first.

      sample way too low. worthless stats, you’d think solothurn is 4 times cheaper than everywhere. also unaware of cantons baar or winterthur

      And now imagine the shock when I moved from the biggest size-to-price canton SG to the biggest price-to-size canton ZH.
