Ich habe den Anhang gerade heute per Post erhalten. Es heißt, dass mein Mietvertrag aufgrund der neuen Mehrwertsteuereinführung von 8,1 % die Erhöhung widerspiegelt. Ich habe noch nie von einer Einführung gehört. Ist das richtig/erwartet oder sollte ich Einspruch erheben? Gilt das nur für Parkplätze oder werden auch die Mietverträge für Wohnungen steigen? Wtf.

Are you renting an apartment & a parkimg space from the same landlord/same place?
Did your previous bills include VAT at 7.7%?
What does your contract say?
Yes, there was a recent change that renting non-living spaces now also requires paying VAT.
Won’t apply to your apartment.
If the parking space is an ancillary service associated with your apartment lease, it shouldn’t be subject to VAT. Otherwise, it’s an independent taxable service.
The change was effective from January 2024
yes VAT is applicable for parking spaces (since 2024), unless the parking space is part of your rental contract (e.g. if the building has underground garage).
