Hallo zusammen! Im August dieses Jahres war ich auf der Autobahn zu schnell unterwegs und ein paar Wochen später erhielt ich einen Brief von der Polizei. Ich habe ein Foto des Briefes beigefügt. Der Brief enthielt auch ein Formular, in dem Sie antworten müssen, wer gefahren ist, ob ich mit der Geldbuße einverstanden bin usw. Im Brief wurde auch darauf hingewiesen, dass dieses Verfahren online durchgeführt werden kann; Der beigefügte Brief enthält den Benutzernamen/das Passwort für das persönliche Konto für meinen Fall bei der Polizei. Ich bin sofort nach Erhalt des Briefes dorthin gegangen, habe alle Daten eingegeben und abgeschickt. Ich habe gelesen, dass die Polizei Ihnen, nachdem Sie zugegeben haben, dass Sie gefahren sind und dem Bußgeld zugestimmt haben, ein Schreiben mit den Einzelheiten zur Zahlung des Bußgeldes senden muss. Das Problem ist, dass ich nie einen solchen Brief erhalten habe! Außerdem habe ich irgendwann Ende September noch einmal das Online-Formular aufgerufen und alle Daten noch einmal eingegeben, aber immer noch keine Wirkung! Es liegt noch kein Schreiben der Polizei mit Anweisungen zur Zahlung des Bußgeldes vor. Ich bin mit der Geldstrafe einverstanden und habe auch nichts gegen die 40 Euro; Aus Verzweiflung habe ich diese 40 Euro vor ein paar Tagen mit den im Brief (unten) angegebenen Daten überwiesen. Bitte sagen Sie mir, hätte ein weiterer Brief ankommen sollen, oder bin ich ein Vollidiot und hätte sofort 40 Euro bezahlen sollen, ohne auf den Brief zu warten?

Well, they even included the Verwendungszweck, so it’s definitely the intended way of payment
This is the letter, that tells you, that you have to pay 40€ – 😉
It doesn’t say that there will be further correspondence. Quite the opposite: if you pay, the case is closed and nothing else will happen. If you pay you don’t even need to provide any additional info. The bank details are at the bottom of the letter.
The letter explicitely says that when you pay 40 EURos, the case is done and closed. You don’t need to do anything else and you will not get any other mail about this case.
By paying the fee everything is done. There was no need to sent them your details. They only need it if someone else was driving the car. (In this case they would sent the letter again to that person. 🙂 so no worries 😉

The payment informations are right at the bottom of it. you pay 40,00€ to this bank account and as a payment detail you enter the Verwendungszweck.
It is stated in the Letter that you just have to pay the fine and thats it. It is a little bit confusing the, that they dont statet that you should use one of the Bankdetails on the bottom of the Letter.
You could deny to pay and get the possibility to defend yourself, if you think, that there is something wrong worh this Letter.
Except the speeding, you did everything correct. Please dont speed in the future!

and yet it turns out I’m an idiot… thanks everyone for the answers. and if I am several months behind on my payment, what awaits me? Or do the German police give a warning before suing me?
I think, It says you can reply to the letter through the online link or with the attached form. Probably to get more details on it. But I never had to do that to pay my warning fine. Just sent the money through the account details they sent me.
This is completly normal
