Hauszustellungspakete werden zunehmend vor der Haustür abgelegt, damit jeder darauf zugreifen kann, wenn der Empfänger bei der Ankunft nicht zu Hause ist und es gibt keine andere Option.
In den USA gibt es bereits tolle Erfahrungen, wie effizient Pakete dort abgeholt werden! (von jemand anderem als dem richtigen Empfänger).

Meh. I’m not too worried about this. Depends on the neighbourhood.
Luckily in Finland, the seller is responsible from the package until the customer receives the package. The receiver is in no contractual relationship with the courier company. Tough luck for the seller, if I dont receive the package at all.
Edit: just make sure that you dont „actively“ choose the delivery option that leaves your package outside. If you „gave permission“ by choosing that, then tough luck for you.

This is for „people“ in Helsinki-region being upset about the society they voted for. I’ve had my packages left at my door for years now without incident, another benefit of a quiet, not-stuffed-to-the-brim neighborhood.
Maybe don’t import a culture of thieves if you want such luxuries in life. I guarantee this will only be a problem in *certain* neighborhoods.
I just pick packages up from my local posti k-market. Why leave packages at doorsteps?

Many delivery services are already doing that. I would almost welcome porch pirates to try and take stuff. Most of the time I am in my home office on the ground floor 6 meters away from the front door and with a clear view of it. If anyone attempts to steal a box containing two ten liter boxes of cat sand, I will probably not directly intervene. It will be too much fun seeing them struggle. They won’t get much of a head start.
