As real as flying pigs
+91 area code is the first red flag

Just look at the International prefix in the phone number.
Scam
Are you expecting something? Do you recognise the number? If the answer is no, that would go into my blocklist and get deleted even if I didn’t think it was a scam.
Shorturl…yeah. Companys have their own websites
An Indian number, a sketchy-as-hell URL, claiming urgency, no sender name at all.
This screams scam so hard I wonder how you were even able to consider this as legitimate.
I got the same message today. 100% a scam
No mut mainittiin ”välittömästi”. Nyt varmaan myöhäistä jo
Real Scam
Don’t open any links. If you think a message is valid and requires attention, go to the company’s official website or app without any links and do what you need to do. Or call the company’s real number. Not the text sender or some random number in the message, but the company’s real number that’s on their webpage. Unsurprisingly, this sender doesn’t tell what company is supposedly trying to reach you. It’s a scam.
One more time: never open any links in any messages that you weren’t explicitly expecting or otherwise know with absolute certainty to be safe, like a friend showing you a funny cat video.
Same goes even if the country code shown is from Finland or if the sender has a fake identifier displayed as their name.
10000000000000000% sure its a scam
1. Real messages are definitely not sent from India 2. Real messages neither do use RCS since it only is available on phones, not automatic systems. It’s like WhatsApp in the messages app. Automated messages are 100% SMS 3. The language looks sketchy 4. Real messages do not have weird shortened urls from a third party service
Bruh
100% scam. How do you even have to think about that?
If it was legit, they would have mentioned the company and tracking number with which you would have been able to check from their website. Never open links.
+91 is some 3rd world country, quite obvious
It could be something important. I would follow through the link.
Always a scam
Ive become so paranoid about scams that i allmost mistook an actual posti arrival email as a scam because i mistyped my phone number ao i didnt get a message about it. Only after 5 emails from them and allmost missing the package i opened it and realised it was real.
Things to think about when we get a message like that:
1.- Did I order a packet? Most of the times we get those messages the answer is no, but Xmas season is the perfect time for those scams.
2.- Is the website reliable? Any packet delivery company would only share with you links to their site. For example no ups-delivery dot com, but ups dot com.
3.- Where did the message come from. Sometimes you’ll get the message from a Finnish number, that doesn’t make it trustworthy. Still, most scammers have very low technical skills (they only learn the basics necessary to scam), so they don’t know how to fake a phone number, that’s why most scam attempts come from India (+91), Nigeria (+234), South Africa (+27), Brazil (+55) and many more, I’m just listing the top 4 currently targeting Finland.
In short: With a little watching eye and being careful of not sharing any personal data online you should be safe.
Best thing you can do is apply zero trust to everything online. Unless you are absolutely sure, don’t click a link, the main giveaways here are the Indian phone number and the shortened URL.
Red flags:
1. Doesn’t tell you what company the courier works for
2. Weird area code on the phone number
3. URL shortener
4. Phrasing that makes it seem urgent so you’d click the link without thinking too much
5. No alternate means for updating your information such as a customer service number or text reply options
If the link says shorturl, bitly, cutly or some other link shortener, never click it.
