Check if there is a ball at the very bottom of the spinny part which is used as a bearing, the resistance might be too high to turn

Is it turning well, wenn you do it manually? It should do several rounds with one shove.
If yes, then also check for other heat sources that might counteract the candles. We once at a heater on the other side of the room, that would make the pyramid turn, when the candles were not burning. The warm air was falling on the pyramid. It is rare but can happen. Besides I go for an angle of about 45 degrees
It needs to turn freely.
by the way, stop using cheap red candles. the red wax will soak into the wood and will stain the wood permanently. better use white candles or – only if necessary – really good red candles (which are expensive)
