A third World War has started as Russia has involved its autocratic allies in the war against Ukraine, stated Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine’s ambassador to Great Britain and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
“I believe that in 2024, we can absolutely assume that World War III has begun,” he said.
Ukraine is being attacked by missiles of North Korean origin and Iranian drones, while Russian weapons contain Chinese components, the former four-star general said.
“The reason is that in 2024, Ukraine is no longer facing Russia. Ukraine is facing soldiers from North Korea. Let’s be honest. Iranian-made Shaheds [loitering munitions] are killing civilians in Ukraine quite openly,” Zaluzhnyi said.
Thus, he said, the global community must prepare for the third world war that is unraveling. However, there is still time to stop it within Ukraine’s borders. Unfortunately, he noted, international partners have yet to fully grasp this reality.

of course the west isn’t prepared. the west loses its mind over bent knees and couldn’t tell fact from fiction if their life depended on it.
Russia is also being attacked with american and British and European weaponry and there are international soldiers fighting for Ukraine.
I am not saying this is a counter. I am only adding to the original point about the involvement of multiple countries in the conflict.

With China’s recent ban on certain REM’s exports to the USA, I feel it mirrors America’s ban on oil exports to Japan. With such a move it could try and put a strain on supply of western electronics before they’ll need a lot of them for missiles, vehicles, optics, bombs, and radios.

I asked on a r/worldnews thread the other week how everything going on rn is not WW3 and I was told no major players are at war with each other rn so it’s not WW3 💀
The good news is that it seems nukes are still an effective deterrent, so while it’s not unfair to call this a world war, it’s not going to be open conflict between major powers. We’ll go right up to the thinnest of lines and sometimes stumble across, but the war(s) will be fought via proxies, mercenaries, and arms deals.

This is propaganda. I’ve noticed a big push from pro ukraine accounts trying to convince people that world war three has already started, and that they are all already at war with russia.

At the start of WW1, there were roughly 1.8 million people on the planet, and on average during the war, 5k died per day. In WW2, we had 2.3 billion people, and 10k died per day. Today, we have 8.1 billion people. This number is exponential. If we look at war deaths today, using the „least number“ each side provides, i.e. Ukraine’s number of Ukrainians lost, and Russia’s number of Russians lost, it would be about 300 per day. Using the opposite would be about 1,200 per day. There’s about 300 gazans dying per day, and 65 Syrians dying per day, in their respective wars.
If you want to try to calculate a „world war ratio“ on people alive and deaths per day, we’re pretty damn safe today. WW1, 2.78 deaths per million, per day. WW2, 4.35 deaths per million, despite the population increasing by .5 billion in only 20 years. Today? Between 0.037 and 0.148 deaths per million per day. This is my best quick glace at it, clearly everything said above is flawed in some way.
What this does do, is tries to illustrate the difference at a glance. If we tried to compare what a WW3 would look like, and we assume it follows the same path of more deaths per million, against our current population, we can easily assume an increase of WW2’s 10k, to a daily 20-100k today. The current .15 per million per day, is 135,000 times less than that estimation of a ‚more deadly war‘. Our two world wars brought fourth unexpected death tolls, but apparently, our third world war is very mild, and doesn’t make a great impact on total deaths per day vs war deaths per day, unlike every other world war.
If you want to try to understand what it would take a mathematical WW3 to happen, it would be when a nuke launches. Unless the idea is that this is the calm before the storm of that happening, this isn’t WW3.
Russia is weak. It can’t handle a big war, Ukraine alone is big enough.
If Zaluzhny mean by world war, that Russia seeks soldiers from all over the world for it’s war, then yeah…. sounds like a world war then.
It’s still a proxy war until multiple countries declare war and fight on multiple fronts.

If anything WW3 has started in 2024 (or late 2023)—not in Ukraine, but in the middle east. Regional superpower with a fascist ethno apartheid state opening several fronts against other regional superpowers.

Bull. Russia and China do not want a world war. Neither does the USA nor Europe. Stupid Ukraine thumbed its nose as Russia and threatened to bring nuclear missiles to Russia’s doorstep through NATO. Ukraine has never been a nice country. They had multiple pogroms where they humiliated, beat and murdered innocent civilians in the streets. We are talking like 100,000 innocent people murdered. The Ukrainians also embraced the Nazis with open arms, only to discover the Nazis didn’t like them. Their current ‚president‘ became famous for playing a piano on TV with his penis. There are many videos of Ukrainians (and to be fair Russians) committing war crimes during this current war.
Most of the Ukrainian weapons aren’t built there either.

His justification for saying WWIII has begun is Russia has some minor help from 3 countries, meanwhile most of Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, etc, have all been pouring billions of dollars and billions of dollars worth of war material into Ukraine the entire time.
Russia has spent the last one thousand days achieving nothing in the Ukraine and your saying the west is less prepared for war than countries that have seen no actual conventional war decades.

Ukraine has 900,000 people fighting approximately and they can’t stop Russia (to the point where Zelenskyy is considering concessions)even with f-16s, HIMARS, ATACMs, Abrahams, Challengers, panthers, Bradleys, air defense systems, drones, etc, etc. Feel lucky that you have been born in a time to witness the collapse of a massive empire and its apartheid colony.
No shit, this is the collapse of America, israel, and the tight grip that america has had on the world. Not only is America completely unable to take on Russia, but China and Iran as well. This isn’t the same world anymore during the Iraq war or Afghanistan. Thanks to reverse engineering and partnerships they have similar tech and weapons to American controlled forces. Hezbollah for example are pretty well kitted.
The israeli apartheid forces can’t even win against Al-Qasam, which is why they got ground up into mincemeat in Lebanon and got kicked out of northern occupied territories. America can’t win against the Houthis, they can’t win against Syrians even with paying off Al queda and Isis, they can’t develop iron dome well enough to stop Iran’s missiles.
The cherry on top of this cake is that American military recruitment is down significantly, no one wants to fight and die for Northrop Grumman and the israeli occupation. After people’s siblings, children, cousins, parents, spouses came home completely and utterly mentally and physically destroyed by a useless war, you won’t find anyone to fight for you. Good luck invading and fighting Iran, Russia, China, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Venezuela, and everyone else at the same time while having to reinforce European forces because countries like Germany only 180,000 active troops.
Oh also, Trump will isolate america even more with tariffs and sanctions, eventually america will won’t have anyone to trade with and the entire economy will crash; which means countries in nato like Turkiye who are already in BRICS will side with BRICS over america.
