Same age as other religieus persons. If some kind of religion is real then so is Sinterklaas.
What a stupid mum. She expected one of her child’s classmates to spill the beans, since that hasn’t happened her daughter still believes in St Nick at 9 y/o.
Telling her is the parents’ job. Everyone else is supposed to keep the secret going for as long as they can.
Or you know.. you could just go for the Dutch celebration of Sinterklaas, and gradually go from ‚de Sint‘ mysteriously dropping off presents, to ‚Surprise evening‘, where everyone has one or more ppl they have to find a gift for, and then wrap it in a craft project, that either depicts a hint of what the present is, or something characteristic about the recipient.
Sinterklaas brings for the kids, the older family members do surprise, and gradually, everyone shifts from one to the other.
Believing in Sinterklaas is absolutely harmless.
And I guess OP is somehow surprised or outraged about the article, given the ‚what?!‘
I personally am more outraged adults still believe in fairytales like ‚politicians actually caring about the country and its ppl‘, when we all know without any doubt, that they are only there for their paycheck, and the career that awaits after.
Young ppl believing in communism. Much more concerning than a child still believing in Sinterklaas.
