  2. I guess the results of the 2015 federal election cut right against this narrative so it was excluded.

    Lib: 55.26%
    Con: 26.99%
    NDP: 14.72%

    Truth is, in Canada, the vote switches pretty steadily between the two parties.

    The two by-elections from this Summer prove that Justin Trudeau is political poison. He has lost the confidence of even the Liberal party’s most loyal constituencies and will lead the party to a 2011 style wipeout in the next election.

    In general, comparing one by-election result with three election results is off.

    The three election results are a trend (though skipping so many elections between already feels like a cheat).

    Likewise, a by-election compared to the preceding election is sensible.

    Both at once are mixing and straining comparisons.
