Well, it’s pretty safe to visit Belarus for a person who is not bothered by human rights and politics in general. That’s true. But if you are bothered and willing to express your concern in any form, it can easily get quite dangerous.

I am so tired of the rhetoric that those of us who discourage traveling right now are anti-Belarus or hate the country.
I miss my homeland. It has so much to offer. I’d give a lot to be able to go back to visit! But it’s not worth the risk and it’s not worth supporting Lukashenko. There’s also a fucking reason these countries have Belarus on its highest do-not-fly list. I do not say do not visit because I think every foreigner is getting snatched up and put in prison. I’m sure there are many success stories, but I do not understand the people who say that there is no risk.
