No Liberal seat is safe under Trudeau….when will he realize

That was a quite the night with the Bloc winning by 248 votes, a margin of less than 1%. In the end it was Bloc: 8,864 Liberals: 8,636, NDP: 8,262 making up the top 3.
The Bloc won with 28% of the 39.66 % who showed up at the polls. It really is an example of the vocal minority. 31, 711 people voted in total. There is no doubt the Longest Ballot Campaign had an effect here. All the independent votes are certainly more than the 248 margin between the Bloc and Liberals. Without them taking part who knows how this would have turned out, but that is democracy at work.

Looks like the Bloc BLOCked the Liberals
I’ll be here all night

This is damming for the Trudeau Liberals, having lost a second straight seat in a byelection previously held by a member of his cabinet. It will be very interesting to see what the next couple days brings in terms of the spin.

Less than 40% voters showed up in both ridings, what’s wrong with people?

There will probably be a recount to challenge the result

CPC got spanked pretty bad coming in at 4th place.

Expect more Liberal MP’s to resign in the coming weeks or even days.

Still trying to figure out being within a 1% margin if the Liberals will be able to request a recount. There is a threshold that would trigger an automatic one.

# 2.2.1 Ground for Automatic Judicial Recount
A judicial recount must take place if the difference between the number of votes cast for the candidate with the most votes and the number of votes cast for any other candidate is less than one one-thousandth (1/1000) of the valid[^(Footnote 4)](https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=res&dir=loi/jud&document=p2&lang=e#_ftn4) votes cast. If a fall election is called this riding would be up for grabs again. Considering the super close tally, it would be very interesting to see the results of a 2nd round of polling.

Guess this is expected when you don’t represent the people of this country.
– Open up the gates to mass immigration compromising our way of life and the fabric of our society
– Withhold the names of the MPs who are compromised by foreign powers

Worth noting that the Bloc had already won twice there, in 2006 and 2008.
