  1. You should remove some of the labels so it’s less cluttered.
Also might be helpful to color code consoles from the same family

Almost two THOUSAND dollars to get “All toasters toast toast”?

  3. Interesting data, but it could use a lot of work to actually be “beautiful”

  4. Damn my original PlayStation is nearly 600 dollars…. But it still works from 1998.

That’s why the 3D0 failed, it was amazing at the time, but it was 3 times more expensive than any other console.

I wanted a NeoGeo so badly as a kid but it was INSANELY expensive. I haven’t seen it price adjusted for inflation before, but it really confirms my memory. It didn’t even have a ton of games at the time.

  7. CD-I at least accomplished being #1 at one thing.

Still got to admit I did had fun with it back in the day plus it has a remarkable history.

  8. Would be interesting to see this against median disposable income/purchasing power

This is so not beautiful. I can’t even read half of it because the labels are overlapping.

  10. When I prefer to see the data in non-chart form, I can’t consider this data to be beautiful

  11. Not beautiful, but still interesting to see that inflation hasn’t hit the console market. From memory, I think many consoles are now even loss leaders for selling the games, but don’t quote me on it.
